About David Bishop

Nationally recognized commercial photographer, David Bishop has spent most of his career in NY and is proud to announce that Nashville is now home to his new studio. He is located in The Gulch, one of Nashvilles hottest and most historic neighborhoods. It is surrounded by landmark deco architecture, galleries, converted warehouses, trendsetting restaurants, nightlife, chic hotels, fashion boutiques and plenty of Nashville’s world renowned Music City entertainment. David brings to Nashville the skills and experience from a career working with A-List clients to create images of food, beverage, conceptual, people and still life in the studio and on location. His clients include distilleries, breweries, hospitality, restaurants, chef’s, corporate-direct, farms and events, for advertising, promotion, packaging, cookbooks, web, magazines and blogs. His enhanced dimensional lighting is strongly influenced by both contemporary and baroque art because of his studies of the 17th century Dutch painters masterful understanding of light resulting in a unique contemporary lighting style. His work displays a complex play of color, texture, and depth, drawing the viewer in to explore the imagery. “The lighting directs the viewer’s eyes" to the hero elements and then around the composition. The viewer unconsciously seeks hunger cues and rests on the secondary elements. His signature use of light ratios assures that the product remains the primary focus.

Much of the floral work seen online is now available as large dye sublimation metal prints. If you are not familiar with dye sublimation prints, they are a wonderful, new technology in which the photographic images are directly transferred, as a gas, into the aluminum. David’s work is the perfect use of this remarkable process resulting in stunning photography with vibrant color and David’s signature dimensional quality.
